Evolution
Construction has been in the family for 3 generations, beginning with the first generation enlisted with the ‘Royal Engineers’ in World War II, constructing bridges on the front line. Post war, working on landmark sites such as the ‘Portland Building’, ‘Hyde Park Corner Underground Parking Facilities’ and the iconic ‘Lucozade’ building. This heritage has been passed down from generation to generation with a wealth of knowledge and experience. This heritage defines Bauhaus, believing to offer exceptional design and construction services that they have aspired for long. Today, projects of all sizes and shapes are undertaken, from home refurbishments, new house builds, basements, office blocks, residential blocks and shops. Bauhaus considers expert project management, innovative design, and profound customer service as a building block of its business philosophy.

Our team comprises of specialist trades and site managers, ranging from decorators, tilers, to joiners, and roofers. Having the status of NHBC registered builder allows us access to a variety of products and service offerings, designed specifically to assist us in building exceptional houses, work in coalition with talented and trusted suppliers giving us exceptional assistance in our design and build processes.
Engagement
We offer a range of ways in which you can connect with us, directly or via an external interior/architect designer. Bauhaus offers a complete range of design and construction services; however we can also work from drawings and plans that are pre-designed from individual homeowners directly or from contracted architects. Over the years these firms have forged strong partnerships with us on delivering superior finished products/construction in a creative, timely, and measured manner.

The Process
DESIGN BRIEF & SURVEY
Post initial site visit, our team prepares a comprehensive design fee proposal which includes an initial construction cost estimate. Once instructed, a thorough site survey is conducted, including measurements, obstructions, site access and transportation.
DEVELOPMENT OF A CONCEPT
Our expert team of designers will work with you to create a bespoke design customized to your individual property needs, maximizing storage, light and space.
PLANNING
The permitted or planning development applications are submitted by us. We manage the application from submission to sign off.
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
We have a team of inhouse architects and structural engineers who design complete structural calculations, drawings, and all the required construction method statements.
PARTY WALL AGREEMENT
In some instances, structural work involves an agreement of a party wall. Our inhouse surveyor will be responsible for issuing notices as required.
WORKING CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS/BUILDING CONTROL
A comprehensive set of schedules and drawings are produced for the project and site teams. This will entail all the information required to proceed with the build.
INTERIOR DESIGNING
Transform your space with individual and timeless interior design. We have partnered with leading interior designers who offer their services with fixtures and fittings, colour schemes, sanitary ware and spec finishes.
CONTRACTING AND COST ENGINEERING
We cost engineer the final schemes as per need and budget. After agreeing on construction fees, an FMB contract or JCT is issued. A deposit invoice will be issued to secure a date for the commencement of the build.
SCOPE OF WORKS
A comprehensive itemised ‘Scope of Works’ is costed to ensure that the prices we offer are cost effective and competitive.
PROJECT TEAM
The site and project manager will be your key contacts throughout the build. You will be introduced prior to the build start date.
PRE-COMMENCEMENT
A detailed project site pack and timeline is compiled by the Project Manager, along with notifying the statutory bodies and Building Control.
THE BUILD
The construction site will be tidy, clean and fully compliant with Health and Safety and Building Regulations protocols throughout the entire process.
PROGRESS MEETINGS
Meetings with Project Manager are scheduled on weekly basis, keeping the client fully updated, involved, and enthused in all the stages of the project.
PROJECT COMPLETION
Once the build is complete and a list of outstanding items has been completed, the build is signed off back into the care of the client. This is known as practical completion.
PROJECT RETENTION
The project manager will visit the site after six months post project completion to document a snagging list with you and manage a suitable time for any work required.
